At Liberty Balloon Flights, we don’t just fly over the land, we’re part of the communities that make our flights possible. From local farmers and landholders to schools, not for profit groups, and small businesses, we believe in giving back to the people and places that support us.
We’re proud to support the local economies we operate in by buying local wherever and whenever possible – from produce and catering to accommodation and technical services. We service and repair our vehicles locally, and wherever we need help…mechanical, hospitality, or logistics, we enlist trusted local providers. It’s our way of ensuring that tourism and ballooning continue to generate meaningful economic benefit in the regions we call home.
Our connection to the land goes beyond just scenic views. We’re deeply grateful to the landowners and farmers who generously allow us to use their properties for take-offs and landings. As a gesture of thanks, we often invite them to join us for a flight as our guests, or leave a bottle of sparkling wine at their gate – a long-held ballooning tradition that reflects our appreciation for their ongoing support and trust.

We’re also thankful for the city councils who work with us to provide access to parks and reserves, making it possible for our balloons to launch or land in unique urban spaces. It’s something truly special, and rare – to be able to float quietly over a city as it wakes up, and we never take that privilege for granted.
Whether in the heart of the countryside or above city streets, we value the relationships and permissions that make each flight possible, and we’re committed to showing respect and care in return.
We believe in hands-on community engagement – whether it’s visiting local childcare centres to spark curiosity in young minds, supporting local school fundraisers, or partnering with a local university to assist students with real-world marketing projects.
Ballooning That Builds Community and Wonder
Liberty Balloon Flights proudly supports and sponsors community events, from providing balloon glows and displays that light up the night sky, to donating flights or services for raffles and fundraising initiatives. We’ve even hosted our own balloon gathering, inviting pilots from other regions to join us in creating a spectacle that draws more visitors out of the city – boosting tourism and building excitement around the magic of ballooning.
